Advising/Counseling
Experienced CIE staff members can help students deal with international issues, student problems, immigration issues, and personal dilemmas. If we can't find an answer, we can direct you to individuals or sources that can.
Airport Pick-Up
Airport pick-up is available to international students traveling for the first time to Boston.
Host Family Program
This program was established to foster cross-cultural experiences for both host families and visiting students. Students are hosted on a holiday, a weekend, or an evening. It is designed to provide international students with a realistic perspective of American life, which results in clarifying some stereotypes about American culture. At the same time, host families are given an opportunity to have a meaningful cultural experience to develop more global perspectives. Host families participate on a volunteer basis.
Off-Campus Housing
The office compiles a list of apartment owners near the college for off-campus housing placement of international students. CIE provides assistance to students with understanding the lease documents and owner-tenant relationship.
Tutoring
Peer tutors are on duty in the CIE four afternoons per week. Tutoring sessions are free and available to all international Students enrolled at the College.
Reentry Training
International students often assume that returning to their countries will be easy. However, most international students who have stayed in the United States for four years develop or change values which often conflict with those in their home country. This workshop prepares foreign students for reassimilation into their native country.
