Course Description:
This course focuses on problems of financial
management of multinational corporations with particular emphasis on techniques
available to manage companies’ exposure to exchange rate risk. Assessments of
international monetary systems, banking policies, and aspects of international
trade are discussed. Course is open to all who have taken FIN 322, regardless of
their major.
Course Objective:
The objective of the course is to expose you to the
international monetary system, make you curious about the various currencies of
the world and their exchange relationships, the international investments market
and the international banking environment. You will also investigate the
financing of foreign trade, understand the complications of the same both in the
corporate world as well as in the small business world. You will also explore
and understand the implications of foreign exchange risk involved in
international transactions and methods to hedge the same.
