¨ CIBES is the co-sponsor of the “China: Emerging Market Challenge” Summer Business Institute at which Dr. Farahbakhsh will make several presentations to the students.

¨ Dr. Farahbakhsh presented a paper, Business Simulations: Getting into the Game at Graduate Research Day on 15 May, 2004.

¨ CIBES, Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the Enterprise Center sponsored the Tenth Anuual Export/Import Symposium on 29 April, 2004. The workshop featured three students enrolled in BUS 473-Export/Import Management, who presented their own feasibility projects on exporting/importing a product of their choice from and to a country of their choice. The event also celebrated the Tenth Anniversary of CIBES and its accomplishments.

¨ Earth Day, 12 April 2004, Sponsorship selling book, Discovering Marblehead.

¨ Dr. Farahbakhsh met with Dr. Joseph K.F.Kwok of the City University of Hong Kong on 7 April 2004.

¨ Dr. Massoud Farahbakhsh arranged for several guest speakers to address his BUS 473-Export/Import Management class. The speakers represented federal, state, and private services.

¨ On April 1, 2004, CIBES co-sponsored (along with SBDC and the Enterprise Center) the Training Opportunities Program (TOP) Luncheon featuring presentations by TOP interns and their supervisors. The program, made possible by the generous support of the Michael Agganis Entrepreneurship Fund, places students from the School of Business into internship positions that will enable them to gain practical business experience. The luncheon provided an opportunity for students, faculty and members of the business community to come together to learn about the Training Opportunities Program (TOP) Internships.

¨ On Monday, March 22, 2004, Dr. Farahbakhsh presented “Globalizing Salem State's Academic Programs - Graduate and Undergraduate Curriculum Development” at the Asian Heritage Festival.

¨ Encouraged and assisted Professor Ann Marie Harris in designing a graduate level course in International Business Law

¨ Colombian Labor Leader as a guest speaker

¨ In collaboration with other faculty members, Dr. Farahbakhsh worked to design a proposal for submission to the Freeman Foundation, which would support an MA degree in Asian Studies and/or an Asian Studies Minor at the undergraduate level.
