¨ Dr. Massoud Farahbakhsh, in cooperation with his graduate assistant, Ralph Pecora, is working on “Foreign Trade Zones: A Feasibility Study for Salem State College”, which was prepared by three of his MBA students in BUS 840, International Business. This project will be used to provide additional services at Central Campus’s Enterprise Center.

¨ In Chicago, Illinois, he attended Learning Without Boundaries: The Global Forum on Management Education, co-hosted by AACSB – The International Association for Management Education, Association of Deans of southeast Asian Graduate Schools of Management (ADSGM), Canadian Federation of Business School Deans (CFBSD), European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), and many other organizations.
¨ While in Chicago, he attended the AACSB 1998 Annual Meeting held June 14-17th.
¨ He also attended Administrative Strategies for Internationalizing the Business School, a seminar conducted by the University of South Carolina and AACB – The International Association for Management Education in Chicago on June 11-13, 1998.
¨ Dr. Massoud Farahbakhsh, Executive Director of the Center for International Business and Economic Studies (CIBES), reports that the first study abroad program in Montpellier, France (coordinated by him and Dr. Joseph Aiyeku, Chairperson of the Marketing Department) was very successful. In June 1999, a group of faculty, undergraduate, and graduate students studied international business and marketing in southern France.
¨ While in France, Dr. Farahbakhsh finalized the draft of a Double Diploma Agreement between Salem State College and Sup de Montpellier. Dean Burton joined the discussions during his visit to the Graduate School of Commerce the following week. The Agreement, the first in the history of the institution, will be presented to Dr. Nancy Harrington for her approval.
¨ CIBES co-sponsored the 1999 Summer Business Institute titled “Euro and the European Economic and Monetary Union.”
¨ Dr. Farahbakhsh represented the Center at the following College-wide activities: The International Fair, Toast to the Seniors, Student/Alumni Recognition Banquet, Graduate School Honors Banquet, Osram Sylvania Awards Ceremony.
¨ He also represented the College at "Meet Massport International", an afternoon with Peter Blute and Massport's international trade development team meeting on 24 Sept. 98 with his graduate assistant Ralph Pecora.
