Academic Catalog and Flowsheets
Know Your Academic Requirements
Every undergraduate degree-seeking student at Salem State should be familiar with the university's curricula and policies. On this page you will find tools to help you with your plan of study, including the most recent master catalog and flowsheets for all academic majors.
The catalog contains information about degree requirements, programs of study and the university's academic policies. It also provides course listings by department and lists college personnel. Salem State publishes a master catalog every two years. Your catalog year is determined by when you were admitted to and first attended Salem State.
A flowsheet is a tool for you to use with your advisor as you work through your plan of study. The left side of the flowsheet generally contains all core requirements while the right side lists the requirements and support courses for your major (and a minor if required and a foreign language if required) and the minimum number of free electives required for your particular major. Please note that you must follow the flowsheet for the year in which you declare your major. Effective dates are found at the bottom right of the flowsheet. Hard copies of flowsheets can be obtained from the Registrar's Office or from the Center for Academic Advising.
