To the Sea: A Song Recital

Featuring Jennifer Sgroe, soprano and Beverly Soll, piano

Join us for a special evening of art song by American composers inspired by the sea, including works by Rorem, Duke, Bacon, Wheeler, and Boston composers, Arthur Foote, George Chadwick, Edward MacDowell and others. The program includes early maritime songs, parlor music of the 19th century, and beautiful, highly expressive, poetry and song spanning the 20th century to the 21st century. Over a dozen composers (living and dead) and as many poets are represented, most of whom hail from coastal Massachusetts or have ties to New England.

This event it free, however, donations are welcomed at the door to support scholarships for music majors.
