Cabaret - November 30

A seedy night club in Berlin, as the 1920s are drawing to a close. The Master of Ceremonies promises us a powerful distraction from the outside world. No matter our troubles, we will soon forget them in the Cabaret. On the train to Berlin a young American writer named Cliff Bradshaw is working on his novel. He seeks escape, and is looking for a muse. Enter Sally Bowles, a cheeky English girl who drifts from song to song, as performer and hostess at the Cabaret. Cliff and Sally’s relationship soon ignites, and against the backdrop of their mixed-up affair, shadows of a powerful new Nazi party begin to loom.

A complex moral choice is at hand – forget about our troubles, or stand against hate?

Directed by professor Peter Sampieri, with musical direction by Cole Lundquist and choreography by Jodi Leigh Allen.
