Orientation

Before the semester begins, you are invited to an Orientation program designed to prepare you for your first semester at Salem State College.

Adult Learner Orientation is a one-day program for new first year DAY students age 23 and older.

Evening Student Orientation is a one-night program for new first year and transfer Continuing Education (EVENING) students.

Testing

In addition to Orientation, all first-year students must participate in a Testing program to determine skill development needs, competency levels and exemption from courses. Test results do not affect the condition of your acceptance; they assist us in placing you into the appropriate courses and defining the appropriate support services to allow you to develop your full academic potential.
