Jen Polins - Living Lenses Dance Improvisation Master Class

September 29, 1:15-2:45 pm
Dance Studio, O'Keefe Sports Complex

Improvisation is one of our baselines for living, relating and moving through the world. In this class improvisation is a rigorous technique that tunes awareness, honors personal choice and prepares an articulate alert body/mind for full-out and detailed dancing. Beginning with somatic explorations that map inner sensation and illuminate anatomical connections, the class will look at several ways to approach spontaneous composition.

Jen Polins holds an MFA in dance from Hollins University/The American Dance Festival. She is a performance artist, director, choreographer, and movement educator. She teaches dance and curates work in her home community of the Pioneer Valley and abroad. She danced professionally in America and Europe, including the Joffrey Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and the Zurich Operahouse Ballet companies before migrating to a professional career in contemporary performance art.
