Laptop Recommendation All SSC students are required to own a laptop computer (see www.salemstate.edu/laptop/ for more information.) Art majors are strongly encouraged to purchase Macintosh laptops. We use Macintosh G5 computers in our computer labs. The Dell laptop offered by the college will satisfy the laptop requirement, but students in the Art program tend to prefer Macs as they can easily share files on their laptops with the computers in our labs.
