Homecoming
Oct. 9 - Oct. 13, 2007

All SSC students, parents and alumni are invited for a week of Homecoming events, capped-off with the annual "Salem State Sprint" road race, Homecoming parade, athletic events, and BBQ!

This is a chance for students to show their SSC spirit, for alumni to reconnect with classmates, and for parents to check-out the fun side of SSC! See you there!

Tuesday, October 9 – Friday, October 12

Homecoming banners on display in the Commons Dining Hall & Central Campus Cafeteria throughout the week.

Thursday, October 11

3:30pm – Women's Tennis vs. Gordon College, North Campus Tennis Courts

3:30pm – Women's Soccer vs. Newbury College, O'Keefe Center Alumni Field

4pm - Viking Spirit Award Semi-Finals, MLK Room, ECC

The Viking Spirit Award honors students who are outstanding in their spirit, leadership and commitment to the SSC community. Contestants will compete for this honor in a question and answer program. The winners will be announced at half-time of the Homecoming Women's Soccer game on Saturday, Oct. 13. Cash prizes awarded to winners.

7:00pm – Hispanic Heritage Month Dinner, Veterans Hall, ECC

Celebrate the conclusion of Hispanic Heritage Month with the Hispanic-American Society at their annual dinner. Dance to the World Beat of Grupo Fantasia who will be performing at the dinner. RSVP to HAS at 978-542-6287

7:30pm – Philip Swanson & Guests, Recital Hall, Central Campus

The music of Miles Davis, Chick Corea and original compositions.

Friday, October 12

9:00pm – Pack the Pool Party
O'Keefe Center Pool

What better way to celebrate Homecoming than to ‘pack the pool!' Grab your towel and swimsuit and join us at the O'Keefe center pool from 9pm-12am. Splash around to the hottest DJ music and enjoy some cool refreshments.

Saturday, October 13

9:00am - 5K Salem State Sprint Race & Fun Walk, O'Keefe Center Parking Lot

Register today
to join in the Salem State Sprint. First 100 registered runners will receive T-Shirts. Pre-Registration Fee is $10 by 10/5/07and $15 after. Awards and prizes presented following the race. Rain or shine!

All are invited to join the Viking Spirit Award contestants and the Homecoming Banner contestants in a parade to the Alumni Field to cheer on the Women's Soccer team!

Noon – Volleyball vs. Mass. Maritime, Twohig Gymnasium, O'Keefe Center

1:00pm Alumni & Friends Barbeque, Alumni Field O'Keefe Center

Enjoy an old-fashioned lunchtime barbeque complete with hot dogs and hamburgers before you head to the field to cheer on our Women's Soccer team. Sponsored by the Alumni Association.
