"The Administration Division provides the essential services, people, facilities, and management - that support the living, learning, and working experiences for the Salem State College community."
The Administration Division encompasses a wide range of activities for the Salem State College campus, such as; overseeing the dissemination of information within the college on budgetary processes and procedures related to operating and capital expenditures. It provides research data and necessary statistics and financial reports for the college and external agencies, acts as the liaison to the Finance and Facilities Sub-Committee of the Board of Trustee, develops capital outlay recommendations for the President for submission to the Board of Trustees and acts as the liaison to the Salem State College Assistance Corporation for the areas of financial and facilities planning of the Central Campus.
The Facilities Department is responsible for overall maintenance and repairs for all buildings and grounds on campus, formulates policies and procedures for the development and management of the physical plant, including custodial services, sanitation and fire and police protection. They also conduct the business phases of physical plant and management of contracts related to the facilities.
Financial Services directs budgetary controls for the college; formulates policies and procedures and provides for the collection, custody, investment, disbursement, accounting and auditing of all college funds, and maintains a system for related financial statistical reporting.
Purchasing is responsible for the services operation of the bookstore, food services, vending and coin-operated copiers, and procurement of supplies and services.
Materials Management is responsible for the receiving and shipping operations, mail services, the copy center, fleet management and surplus.
