Mission

The Center for Academic Advising promotes successful academic outcomes by:

assisting you in beginning or continuing a college education
helping you in selecting majors, minors, and concentrations
aiding you in making academic decisions around personal interests and concerns
providing referrals to other campus policies and interpreting college academic policies

Academic Advising enables you to:

identify and explore the many educational opportunities available at SSC
plan your educational programs, complete degree requirements, and benefit from a mentor relationship
take a leave of absence, withdraw from SSC, and discuss academic options you may not know exist
learn about academic probation, academic warning, and academic dismissal
become familiar with resources like the Writing Center, the Math Lab, and Career Services
find out who your faculty advisor is (day students only)
determine if a day schedule or night schedule suits your needs
transfer internally from day to evening or from evening to day
