There are limits to what
an advisor can reveal about student information.
Detailed information on
Privacy law (The Buckley Amendment) can be obtained from the Registrar's
Office. It is critical for students to have a trusting relationship with
family or appropriate friends. Honest communication is the key, and the
student is your best source for the information you want to know. Student
records belong to the student, and questions about grades, schedules, and
academic status must be addressed to the student. Exceptions can only be
made with the express written permission of the student.
