Application Requirements
Transfer Admissions
Thank you for your interest in Salem State University. If you are applying to the university, you are required to submit a completed application for admission and the required fee ($40 for all applicants). Please select the following link to access our online application.
Admissions application documentation materials: applicants are to submit all official transcripts to Salem State University, Undergraduate Admissions, 7 E. 8th Street, P.O. Box 316, New York, NY 10003.
The admissions office follows a rolling admissions process; however the following application deadlines should be followed:

Applications Requirements
A completed application, official college transcript(s) for each college attended, a list of courses in which you are currently enrolled, a resume or work history is required if no courses have been taken within the last three years. An official high school transcript and SAT scores are required if you have taken less than twenty credits, have a GPA of less than 2.5 and/or have been out of high school for three years or less.
Permanent residents must submit all ot the requirements for transfer students and,a copy of the front and back of their resident alien card. Applicants who did not attend an English speaking college or university must submit a copy of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
Fire Science (evening only) must submit all ot the requirements for transfer students and, an official transcript of a completed fire science associate degree.
LPN or RN to BSN must submit all ot the requirements for transfer students and: 1) copy of the LPN or RN license; 2) official transcript of the LPN or RN program completed; 3) a resume.
Occupational Therapy must submit all ot the requirements for transfer students and 1) copy of the COTA license; 2) official transcript of the COTA program completed; 3) a letter of reference from your employer ; 4) a resume.

International Transfer applicants (same as above for transfer plus the below):
All original transcripts/credentials must be translated and evaluated from a professional evaluation service (i.e. Center for Educational Documentation at cedevaluations.com or World Education Services at wes.org). This is not required for English speaking countries, as long as the transcript included grades and courses completed.
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Students from English speaking countries, whose first language is English, are exempt. Students who have successfully completed English composition I and/or II from an accredited college in the United States with a grade of B or better are exempt.
