International students will need to provide the following additional information to complete the graduate admissions process:
1) A complete, official transcript documenting the award of a bachelor’s degree and any graduate courses taken or degrees held. All transcripts from institutions outside of the United States must have an approved agency's evaluation of courses, grades, academic degrees, and grade point averages. Four approved agencies include the Center for Educational Documentation, World Education Services, Inc., North American Educational Group, or Educational Credential Evaluators.
2) Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores if English is not your first language. If you have earned an academic degree at an institution within the United States or at an institution where the language of instruction was English, then your application can be reviewed without TOEFL/IELTS scores.
3) Financial documents, if you need an I-20 or DS2019. Please submit original financial documents to the following address:
Salem State University
Center for International Education
Sullivan Building Room 114
Salem, MA 01970
Please note all other admissions documents should be submitted within the online application or to our graduate admissions document processing center in Randolph, MA.
4) A copy of your passport.
Please note that we recommend you apply early for admission if you need to secure an I-20 or change your visa type upon admittance to a graduate program. All I-20 and visa questions may be directed to our Center for International Education at firstname.lastname@example.org or 978.542.6351.
