Teacher Test Preparation Center
The Teacher Test Preparation Center is located in room 220 of the Ellison Campus Center, and serves Salem State students in all licensure programs. The center offers practice tests for the Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure (MTEL) as well as materials for reinforcing literacy and mathematics skills and content knowledge. It also offers diagnostic services and tutoring in all areas of the MTEL, as well as general information about the various state tests.
No appointment is necessary to take a practice test or for tutoring. Tutoring is available free of charge for Salem State students and alumni. Drop-in hours change each semester. For a current schedule, call 978.542.7166.
Upcoming MTEL Prep Workshops
The center is offering prep workshops for upcoming MTEL exams.
- Workshops are held on three consecutive Saturdays
- There is no discount for attending fewer sessions
- Cost for Salem State students (with student ID) and alumni is $80. The cost for non-Salem State students is $150.
- Pre-registration is required
