Governor Patrick Launches Readiness Center at Salem State
At a press conference held at Salem State on November 13, 2009, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick celebrated the establishment of the Commonwealth’s first Readiness Centers. His press conference was preceded by an inaugural meeting of the Readiness Centers Network.
A priority of the governor’s Education Action Agenda, the state’s six regional Readiness Centers will focus on enhancing the quality of teaching across the education continuum, supporting educators across the state in the work they do in the education of our children and helping school districts evaluate programs and assess their needs with respect to improving teaching and learning.
Salem State is one of eight community colleges, four-year colleges and universities north of Boston that form the Northeast Regional Readiness Center (NCRR), and will house the NCRR on its campus.
