About Us

Mission

The Department of Sociology is committed to developing students' sociological insights to promote an enhanced sense of their awareness of an individuals' place in the social structure and their deeper understanding of global cultures. Students who take sociology courses are exposed to current theories and practices in the field and are made aware of the ethical conduct appropriate to sociological inquiry. The department believes that theoretical work should be accompanied by field-based experiential learning.
