Moumita DuttaGupta, Current Student, Master of Science (MS) in Geo-Information Science

Moumita DuttaGupta

I am from India, and I chose Salem State because the GIS program is unique and the communication from professors and Center for International Education made me feel comfortable. My graduate degree in GIS will advance my career, and I plan to pursue doctoral studies in GIS and remote sensing.

Some of my favorite things about the GIS program are the Digital Geography Laboratory - where I spend most of my day! The technology allows us to do real-time projects related to issues of the real world. I also enjoy the interactions between students and professors, as it makes class fun. My favorite graduate school moment was when I was inducted into the Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU) International Honor Society in Geography. It made my parents back home very proud. I am having the experience of a lifetime at Salem State, and I am very proud and feel blessed to be a part of Salem State and the Geography Department.
