CCS Involvement

Students: How To Be Involved In Child Studies


1. Take courses, such as Sociology of Children, Violence and Children, Sociology of the Family, or Seminar in Child Issues.
 
2. Major in Sociology with a cognate in Child Studies.
 
3. Minor in Sociology with a Child Studies focus.
 
4. Do internships and community involvement in a variety of child-centered organizations in the Salem community.
 
5. Directed Studies can be created to allow students to explore particular child-focused issues.
 
6. Research in Child Studies - students can participate in ongoing research projects throughout Salem State as well as regional and state projects.
 
7. Participation in the Salem State College Child Welfare Institute activities.
