Westchester County Seeks Geographic Information Specialist II

Geographic Information Specialist II

 
Westchester County GIS is currently accepting resumes for an entry-level position as part of its core GIS project team.  Primary responsibilities include map and database maintenance, desktop GIS support, and working at the direction of senior staff on a wide range of county and local government GIS projects.  Demonstrated experience with ESRI software required.
 
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma and either: (a) a Bachelor's Degree* and three years of experience where the primary function of the position was utilizing and maintaining GIS systems and mapping applications in a large governmental agency or private enterprise, one year of which involved GIS systems development; or (b) a Bachelor's Degree* in Urban, Natural Resource or Environmental Planning, Geography, Geographic Information Systems or Management Information Systems and two years of experience as defined in (a), one year of which involved GIS systems development.
 
Starting Annual Salary:  $61,000 including standard government benefits.
