Sculpture and Drawings
by Thomas Matsuda
Thomas Matsuda apprenticed with the renowned Japanese sculptor Koukei Eri and then lived in a remote mountatin village carving over 200 works in wood and stone. He has lived and worked with Navajo artists in this country. Our relationship to the natural world and Eastern philosophy are strong guides in Matsuda's creative process. The result is work that is a unique synthesis of eastern and western ideas blended with a contemporary viewpoint. Matusda's works have been seen around the world in solo and group exhibitions, as well as public art installations.
