Grazia Crivello, history major with a minor in foreign languages

Grazia Crivello

Grazia Crivello has combined her love of history with her Italian-American family ancestry. A history major with a minor in foreign languages (Italian, Spanish, French), Grazia is of Sicilian ancestry and comes from Gloucester, where many Italian immigrants have settled. Motivated by Italian speakers in her family, Grazia has studied Italian through the advanced levels at Salem State, while also acquiring skills in French and Spanish.

She was the founder and first president of the department's Italian Club, which organizes cultural events, field trips to Boston's North End, Italian movie nights and other activities for anyone in the community interested in Italian culture. Grazia also works as an Italian language tutor through the free language tutoring program the department coordinates for elementary and intermediate language students. After graduation, Grazia is planning to go to law school.
