Stephen Lochirco '10, geography with environmental concentration
"After a 17 year hiatus, I returned to college in 2006. I have always taken an interest in looking at maps and viewing images of earth from satellite imagery in books and on the Internet. I started to look at colleges that offered programs in geography with remote sensing, and Salem State offered what I was looking for.
When I had returned to Salem State in September of 2006, I took my first few geography courses. I was surprised to find how large the field of geography was. I liked the small class size, the professionalism of the faculty and the varied courses within the department. Also the tuition was reasonable.
I have two goals after I receive my BS in geography, first would be to apply to graduate school in remote sensing and then apply that to real world issues and problems."
