Carla Gerber-Weintraub '09, social work with minors in philosophy and music

"My career goal is to become a clinical social worker. I decided to attend Salem State because of its renowned undergraduate social work program.

My personal experience at Salem State has exceeded my expectations. As a non-traditional adult learner, the Center for Adult Learners has helped my throughout my time here. Salem State has also exposed me to new aspects of myself. Both the philosophy and music departments have embraced my previous college experience and accepted me into their minor programs.

The School of Social Work offers a course load that brilliantly integrates theory with practicum. The professors make it their business to know each and every one of the students and hence their connection with us reaches beyond the classroom. They ensure that each student will become an effective, successful and productive social worker when placed out in the field. If my dream comes true, Salem State's School of Social Work will be the reason why."
