Welcome!

The Department of Occupational Therapy offers a unique, combined bachelor's and master's degree program designed to prepare certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA's) for the transition to registered therapist (OTR). The program is offered on a part-time evening basis in order for students to remain in the work force while earning their degree.

The program takes approximately three years of part-time work (including two summers) to complete after all undergraduate requirements and support coursework is finished. Certified occupational therapy assistants interested in becoming a registered occupational therapist must complete the combined BS/MS degree program to qualify for the national certification examination.

Students interested in becoming a registered occupational therapist must complete the degree program to qualify for the national certification examination.

NOTE: A felony conviction could affect eligibility to sit for the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) examination and make one ineligible for a license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professionals.
