Middle School Subject Matter Concentration

The Middle School Subject Matter concentration prepares students for teaching in grades 5-8.

The concentration in Middle School Subject Matter offers both licensure and non-licensure programs. Licensure is necessary if you intend on teaching in a public school system. Non-licensed professionals can teach outside public school settings, such as child care centers, community programs, and others.

Students in either Education concentration must apply for admission to our licensure programs, and must complete a second major in an Arts & Science discipline. For more information on licensure, visit our Office of Licensure & Field Placement.
