Elementary Education Concentration

The elementary education concentration prepares students for teaching grades one through six, and offers both licensure and non-licensure programs. Licensure is necessary if you plan on teaching in a public school system. Non-licensed professionals can teach in child care centers, community programs and other areas outside the public school settings.

Students in either education concentration must apply for admission to our licensure programs, and must complete a second major in a School of Arts & Sciences discipline. For more information on licensure, visit our Office of Licensure & Field Placement.
