Medical Technology Concentration
The Medical Technology Concentration ensures students complete all necessary pre-clinical courses as required by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) for such a program. Students who intend to become certified as Medical Technologists, [MT (ASCP)]or [CLS (NCA)], may apply for admission to a hospital-based medical technology program for their clinical experience which takes place following completion of the B.S. Biology (Medical Technology concentration) degree. Placement in hospital-based programs is competitive and cannot be guaranteed by the College; however, the College makes every effort to recommend qualified students (generally minimum 2.75 grade point average in science and mathematics courses) for suitable hospital placement.
