MSN

The MSN program is for the registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing or field other than nursing.  If you have a bachelor of science in nursing it must be from an accredited program.  If you have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing you must complete the National League for Nursing Baccalaureate Achievement Exam (NLNBAE).

The program is 39 credits and allows you to specialize in nursing education or nursing administration.

You will:

  • Acquire advanced knowledge of current and developing theory, which provides a foundation for advanced nursing practice.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with professionals in other disciplines to assess and meet health needs of society.
  • Prepare for leadership roles in advanced nursing practice, education, administration and research.
  • Expand knowledge and expertise in selected area of clinical nursing practice.
  • Develop initial competence to conduct individual investigative studies, participate in research programs and utilize research findings
  • Acquire a foundation for doctoral studies
