Tricia Hughes, Master of Social Work (MSW)
"As a graduate of Salem State’s MSW program, I feel very fortunate to have studied under a high-caliber faculty, to have learned from a diverse, engaging community of students, and to have attended an institution committed to keeping educational pursuits affordable and accessible to many.
I found the professors to be academically talented and thorough, dedicated and available to the students, and committed to embodying the values of the social work profession. In word and deed, they demonstrate a rich theoretical understanding as well as invaluable practice wisdom gained from their past experiences on the frontlines of this work.
My gratitude extends as well to the community of students at the School of Social Work whose range of life experiences, passion to serve others and intentions to shape a more just world inspired me deeply. I am honored to sit among them and would encourage those interested in pursuing a social work degree to consider the Salem State program for its academic rigor, its compassionate commitment to improving the lives of others, and its dedication to keeping graduate studies within financial reach of many."
