Assessment

Our department has adopted the learning goals emphasized by the American Psychological Association (APA).

The key areas related to undergraduate study in psychology that we are currently assessing include content knowledge, research methodology, and critical thinking.

Our assessment team is organized into four faculty-driven teams: a main assessment committee, and three advisory committees. The advisory committees work to develop methods to assess student learning in General Psychology (PSY 101), Research Methods and Statistics I and II (PSY 203 and PSY 204), and all of the senior capstone experiences (Seminar courses, Internships, and Directed/Independent Research).

As the department moves forward in this process, we expect to use the data from the assessment procedure to determine future directions for our program.
