SSU team achieves Meritorius Winner status in modeling competition; ties team from Harvard

A team consisting of mathematics majors Kayla Bishop, Pat Coiro and Rick Hennigan participated in the annual Mathematical Contest in Modeling sponsored by the Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications, an award-winning non-profit organization whose mission is to improve mathematics education for students of all ages. The team achieved recognition as a "Meritorious Winner," a designation that places them in roughly the top 10 percent of all contest participants and in the same category as the team from Harvard. The department congratulations them on their fine work.
