Program Details

This program is for anyone who wishes to learn the Spanish language by immersing themselves into the culture, society and traditions of Costa Rica.

What courses can I take? What credits will I earn?

Intensive languages and culture classes are offered at three levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced. You may receive six credits of Spanish among the following: SPN 101, SPN 102, SPN 201, SPN 202, SPN351 advanced conversational Spanish, SPN350 advanced Spanish grammar.

You will have four and a half hours of class with a break, Monday–Friday, and various cultural activities: cooking classes, Latin dance classes, soccer, environmental education, and opportunities for volunteering.

Heredia, Costa Rica

You will live in the cool highlands of Costa Rica in the beautiful city of Heredia, known as the “City of Flowers.” Heredia is located only 20 minutes from the capital city San José, yet retains the atmosphere of a smaller Costa Rican town. Heredia provides a wonderful mix of old and new and is the perfect place to study Spanish and explore Costa Rica.

Latin University of Costa Rica

This private, fully accredited university was founded in 1986. It has a full range of degrees for students that come from all over the world. The university is located on a spacious campus set among pine trees and abundant green space. Firstrate academics combined with a beautiful location make the Latin University of Costa Rica a worldclass location for study abroad.

Program Costs: $3,695
