English teaching assistantships available in Spain, Italy or France for the 2012-2013 academic year
Are you a senior, graduate student or recent alumni? Wondering what to do next year?
Teach English abroad in Spain, Italy or France for 3-9 months fully funded by the Spanish, Italian or French governments. Teaching assistants work with English teachers in public schools to teach English language (usually conversation) and American Studies topics. A monthly stipend from the government covers housing, meals and daily living expenses. Teaching assistants pay their own travel to/from the country. Applicants must be proficient in the language of the country (preferably having completed intermediate-level courses or higher) and have an interest in teaching. Must be US citizens or permanent residents. Study abroad experience preferred. Assistantships are competitive for France and Spain, but SSU students have won these positions in the past. We have three guaranteed spots in Italy for SSU students each year, and only one student is teaching there this year. Apply now and you could be there next year!
