Professional Biography
Dave is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with a Masters degree in social work from Boston University. He has been involved in the development, provision and management of mental health and substance use disorder services for over 35 years. He currently teaches in both the Social Work School and Department of Psychology at Salem State, maintains a private practice in Salem, and consults to the North Shore Recovery High School. He also writes on Substance Abuse issues for the national news service Examiner.com, manages an on-line training program for the United States Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association and serves on the board of the state affiliate of USPRA. Dave is active in the local community and is currently the Secretary of the Marblehead Cares Coalition. a community-wide coalition focused on decreasing youth alcohol and drug use by creating and sustaining a safe and healthy community culture that supports youth and families.
Professional Interests
Dave's professional interests include training of front-line supervisors and managers, and the prevention and treatment of underage alcohol and other drug use.
