Update on AACSB AcreditationAs you may know, Salem State College has made the commitment to pursue AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International) accreditation for the Bertolon School of Business. AACSB is by far the most prestigious specialty business accreditation, and they aim to accredit only the top 10% of business schools worldwide. The process is long and complex. Since the decision to pursue business accreditation was made in late 2005, we have come a long way on the difficult road to success and I am pleased to say that we are right on schedule. Over this past summer, our formal Accreditation Plan was accepted by AACSB. Essentially, the Accreditation Plan is an agreement between AACSB and the Bertolon School that outlines the final path to accreditation. If we complete the implementation of this plan, then AACSB will accredit us, so it is a very important milestone for us. |
