"A tonsillectomy in seventh grade sealed my fate. From that day on, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. The nursing program here has an amazing reputation and made sense for me both financially and geographically. I'm really proud to be part of the nursing program. I still have my acceptance letter hanging in my room.
I am lucky to have found my "niche" in life -- it is caring for other people. From a little thing like putting a smile on someone's face, to saving a life, nursing to me is one of the most rewarding careers. That is why I am so determined to succeed in this program. The medical field is a great place to learn and grow as a person, and to help others in many different ways.
I hope that with my degree I am able to help as many people as possible, whether it is students, other nurses and especially patients. Every person deserves to be cared for, and every person deserves the best care possible. I hope that with my nursing degree, I can inspire someone to be a nurse, just like the nurses did for me when I was in seventh grade."
