Minor in Criminal Justice

The minor in criminal justice is open to Salem State undergraduate students who want to focus on criminal justice administration or technology and research and meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed one full semester at Salem State
  • Majority of courses completed at Salem State
  • Declaration must be made no later than first semester of junior year

Required: CRJ 101 (Introduction to Criminal Justice) plus two courses (six credits) from the minor core:

 CRJ 213  Administration of Criminal Justice
 CRJ 301  Community Corrections
 CRJ 330  Police Studies: Analysis & Research
 CRJ 350  Introduction to Courts
 CRJ 362  Theories of Crime and Justice
 CRJ 410  Comparative Legal Systems
 CRJ 432  Criminal Law

Required: Select two additional courses (six credits) from the criminal justice minor core (above) or from the Department of Criminal Justice electives.
