What was once called "crime fighting" is more commonly referred to today as "law enforcement." In large measure, the name change symbolizes the progress made in the field of criminology over the last 30 years; progress that has been shaped by deliberate policy development in response to society's needs in battling crime.
The concentration in policy and management research is an interdisciplinary approach that introduces you to the fundamentals of crime policy and policy development by examining the impact of historical, cultural and political forces affecting policymaking in law enforcement.
