RN to BSN
The RN to BSN program is a part-time evening program designed for registered nurses currently holding diplomas or associate degrees and wishing to earn a bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN).

Applying
- Complete an undergraduate admissions application
- INCLUDE with your application:
- Official sealed transcripts
- Legible copy of your RN license
- Resume
- Application fee
- Send all of the above information to the Salem State Admissions Office
- Application deadlines:
- December 1 for admission to spring semester
- May 1 for admission to fall semester
Credit Transfer
- Receive 25 credits for your RN license
- Associate degree-level nursing clinical courses do not transfer
- Non-nursing, college-level courses may transfer with a grade of C- or higher
Course Info
- RN-BSN nursing courses are offered in the fall, spring and Summer Session I semesters and admits applicants throughtout the year
- General education, science and support courses are offered all year
- Nursing classes are held on site at Salem State and Northern Essex Community College; online classes may be available
- Two clinical practica are required: nursing management and leadership and public health - each requires six hours a week for a semester
- RNs may take Health Policy or Professional Role Transition without program acceptance (with proof of licensure)
- Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the National League for Nursting Accreditation Commission (NLNAC)
- All nursing students must adhere to School of Nursing policies

- Depends on how many courses you require to complete the RN-BSN program, and how many courses you take each semester
