RN to BSN
The RN to BSN program is a part-time evening program designed for registered nurses currently holding diplomas or associate degrees and wishing to earn a bachelor of science degree in nursing (BSN).
Applying
Complete an undergraduate admissions application
Application deadlines:
November 1 for admission to Spring semester
March 1 for admission to Fall semester
Required application materials:
- Admissions Application
- Official sealed transcripts
- Legible copy of your RN license
- Resume
- Application fee
Send all of the above information to the Salem State Admissions Office.
Credit Transfer
- Receive 25 credits for your RN license
- Associate degree-level nursing clinical courses do not transfer
- Non-nursing, college-level courses may transfer with a grade of C- or higher
Course Info
- RN-BSN nursing courses are offered in the Fall, Spring and Summer Session semesters and appplicants are admitted throughout the year
- General education, science and support courses are offered year round
- Nursing classes are held on site at Salem State and Northern Essex Community College; online classes may be available
- Two clinical practica are required: nursing management and leadership and public health - each requires six hours a week for a semester
- RNs may take Health Policy or Professional Role Transition prior to matriculation
- All nursing students must ahere to the School of Nursing Policies
Cost and Time to Complete
- Depends on how many courses you require to complete the RN-BSN program, and how many courses you take each semester
