Chalk & Wire
All School of Education programs use an electronic portfolio system, Chalk & Wire, to store data that tracks student progress toward meeting the national standards of their future professions. Throughout students' education, faculty assess their learning using rubrics linked to those standards. Students use Chalk & Wire to store and display examples of their work, including the curriculum units they design and elements of their student teaching portfolios. Chalk & Wire allows students to review their professional development progress, use their own stored work to reflect on their accomplishments and plan for the future.
Faculty and students receive training in the use of Chalk & Wire in the School of Education's classroom for technology-enhanced pedagogy.
Faculty needing general help with Chalk & Wire or who wish to schedule trainings for themselves or their classes should contact send an email to cw-help@salemstate.edu.
