|Title||Literacy Leadership, Collaboration and Coaching|
This course focuses on organizational change, professional development and group process skills to assist the literacy specialist in working with the wider school community and provides an introduction to literacy coaching for the experienced educator. Students will experience coaching first-hand as they are coached by peers and the course instructor. Students will develop awareness of the federal and state policy decisions that influence the delivery of reading and writing in schools and will understand how to advocate for needed organizational and instructional changes to promote effective literacy instruction. Requires a 25-hour pre-practicum field experience.
