Welcome from the Director
The School of Social Work at Salem State University is committed to social work education for students who want to understand and address complex and diverse human needs and rights. Our students learn by working with faculty who are dedicated to teaching, practice, civic engagement, and scholarship. In addition to participatory and supportive classroom environments, supervised field education occurs in leading agencies and organizations throughout the commonwealth.
The School of Social Work holds a long tradition of educating students for professional social work practice in public and non-profit services. Our curricula reflect the profession's values, ethics, and commitment to social and economic justice. Our graduates are competent and innovative practitioners and leaders who are making a difference in the lives of people, communities and organizations.
