Professional Biography
Thomas M. Palance is a renowned trumpet performer and educator
known for his versatility and innovative teaching style.
Tom's professional experience includes principal trumpet with the American Chamber Wind Ensemble in Europe, United States Navy Concert Band and Commodores in Washington, DC as a soloist. He performed at the White House, Kennedy Center and foreign embassies in Washington, DC for US dignitaries including five US presidents.
Tom performed with the Glenn Miller Band, Joe Williams, Jim
Snidero, Arturo Sandoval, Clark Terry and many others as a
freelance trumpet player. He was a featured soloist for the 2007 International Guild Trumpet Conference.
As an artist and clinician with Yamaha Musical Instruments, Tom has been invited to guest conduct and perform at numerous festivals and
educational clinics including the South Carolina Jazz Educators, Connecticut Music Educators Conference, and guest
conductor at the Maine All State Jazz Festival.
Tom has taught trumpet, jazz band and jazz methods at the
University of New Hampshire and is now on the faculty at The Boston Conservatory and Salem State College.
