This course will prepare students for Applied Music Composition lessons by linking music theory, aural skills, history, and performance studies for the creation of art music. Class discussions and projects will focus on basic analysis of compositions pertinent to class studies as well as written exercises in various forms, styles and tonalities. Attendance at concerts and additional listening assignments are required. Three lecture hours per week.
