Master in Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Spanish - Curriculum

The master in arts in teaching (MAT) in Spanish offers five possible programs of study: non-licensure, initial level elementary and secondary, and professional level elementary and secondary.

The licensure-related curriculum consists of 18 credits of licensure courses and 18 credits of Spanish courses. The courses for the four licensure programs involve education courses, a methods course and the practicum (for initial licensure) or the clinical (for professional licensure). 

The program ends with a capstone thesis in Spanish, which can be presented at graduate research day and at conferences.
