Careers in Geological Sciences

Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for careers with:

  • consulting firms in Water Resources and the Environment
  • oil and gas industry
  • miining industry
  • federal and state government agencies
  • national laboratories
  • K-12 education

On all levels, from local to international, the demand for trained geologists is strong. Geologists are needed for the mitigation of natural hazards and human caused environmental damage. Geologists are needed to both explore for and as guardians of non-renewable natural resources. Recent graduates of our program are employed in fields as diverse as oil and mineral exploration, environmental remediation, city planning, and high school and college education.
