Professional Biography
My teaching philosophy can be summed up in two lines: "Yes, there will be glitter." - Oliver Bendorf and "The heart is what I imagine I give." - Roland Barthes.
My awards include a Dobie Paisano fellowship from the Texas Institute of Letters and The University of Texas at Austin (2009), a Many Voices residency at the Playwrights’ Center (2006 – 2007) and a Loft Mentor Series Award in Nonfiction (2005 – 2006).

Responsibilities
I teach mixed genre creative writing classes, composition, special topics courses, poetry, memoir, and fiction to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Personal Interests
A few of my favorite things: pho, the stars, Christmas lights, cowboy boots, handmade journals and colored pencils.
